I am Toni Harris . Born in Newark, New Jersey, at the age of 10, I learned that my father was incarcerated. It was at that moment , in that place that I realized the presence of my father’s absence had a impact in my upbringing. At the age of 21, when he showed up at my door, the core of my being desired to “coach him back to life”. This is where I learned to observe and listen to what would soon be transformed in his history . Because of his journey I began my journey in transforming personal “his-story.”
“Kingmaker” was birthed to empower men for reentry into society .
I know for sure a person’s history can be transformed. At the time of my father’s release it was clear that men reentering society would fail if they were not properly coached. Because the stripping of who you were started before prison.
The prison system is a tool that is used to destroy the royal design : The king and his family. It takes a” Kingmaker” to see the king in you.
Reentry kingmakers connect the men to their destinies. Where they see no possibilities to build, new relationships with possibilities are created. Old mindsets are destroyed. The emotional transition of exiting the prison system is a powerful tool for recidivism.
Reentry kingmakers is the median that connects me to the kings in exile. The solutions are not only the hierarchy of needs, which is food, clothing and shelter. Pre release planning is a paramount solution. Such planning takes place 9 months before the release date. The planning identifies a resources and places where the transformation begin.
Claims must be made up to 21 days prior to their release date. Our goal is to rebuild and guide them to the track towards entrepreneurship and accessible employment opportunities. Reentry kingmakers focuses on the whole man; spirit, soul, and body. With a career and success plan we are declaring the end of recidivism.
